It is a colourless and highly flammable gas usually found in aqueous solution under the name formaldehyde solution.

Formaldehyde is known to have carcinogenic and toxic properties. It has been linked to cancer, respiratory problems, and other serious health issues. When released into the air, it can cause eye and nose irritation, headaches, dizziness, and nausea.

Long-term exposure to formaldehyde has been linked to liver, kidney, and nervous system damage. Before your appointment

• Make sure you wash your hair with any sulfate-free or labeled “Keratin” shampoo and do not use any conditioner.

• Hair must be fully dry prior to arrival at hair salon.

• Hair must have been shampooed the same day or a day prior to appointment.

• Hair must be fully clean.

After your appointment

• You cannot wash hair for two days after treatment.

• Upon washing hair please make sure to use only keratin shampoo and conditioners.

• Do not bleach or dye hair until two to three weeks after treatment.

• If you decide to go in a pool after two days of treatment make sure you wash your hair immediately with sulfate-free or any “Keratin” shampoo.

• Minimize or eliminate using hair ties specially when you sleep.

• Do not use any dry shampoo
